Fig. 7.11. Front combination light: 1 – headlight bulb (low beam); 2 – gas discharge headlight bulb (low beam); 3 – Front direction indicator lamp; 4 – Front fog light bulb; 5 – headlight bulb (high beam); 6 – parking light bulb; 7 – Front combination headlight; 8 – gas discharge; 9 – halogen
Spotlight type headlights are used (low beam) and front fog lights. The headlights are combined with the front direction indicators and side lights into a single element to reduce the size (Fig. 7.11).
Gas discharge headlight
Compared to modern headlights, the illumination area is increased. In addition, white light, close in spectrum to sunlight, provides better visibility when driving in the dark. The use of a gas-discharge lamp headlight provides high efficiency with low power consumption.
Fig. 7.12. Gas discharge headlight: 1 – front combination light; 2 – gas discharge headlight bulb; 3 – gas discharge headlight control unit
Gas discharge headlights are used, providing a wide area of illumination and white light, close in spectrum to sunlight (for vehicles equipped with gas discharge headlights, see Fig. 7.12).
