The headlight washer can only function when the engine is running and the headlights are on. The headlight washer is automatically turned on every fifth time the windscreen washer is turned on. If you need to turn on the headlight washer, press the windscreen wiper control lever twice (Fig. 1.75).
If air gets into the headlight washer tubes (for example, when filling the washer reservoir for the first time on a new car or after filling an empty reservoir during the operation of the car), the fluid will not be supplied to the headlight lenses even when the control lever is pressed. In this case, do the following:
- start the engine;
- turn on the headlights;
- turn on the headlight washer several times by double-pressing the wiper control lever until the fluid starts to flow to the headlight lenses.
