A remote control (Fig. 8.75) or button (hatchback only, Fig. 8.76) allows the seat to be folded automatically to expand the cargo compartment.

When folding the seat backs, please note the following:
  • if the car is parked on a slope, the backrests of the rear seats may tilt forward more sharply compared to when parked on a horizontal surface;
  • if the car is parked on a hill, the backrests of the rear seats may not fold. If the backrest does not fold on its own after releasing the lock, pull the upper edge of the backrest from the inside of the car and lower it down.

Unfasten the lap belt located in the center of the rear seat.



After checking that the rear seat is clear, open the rear liftgate and pull the release handles (the handles are located on the left and right sides of the luggage compartment).

The unlocked seat back folds forward under its own weight.

Further pressure on the seat back causes the seat cushion hinges to fold and the seat back to move forward into the lower recess.
