The anti-skid system (ASS) helps to improve the traction properties of the vehicle and driving safety by regulating the torque developed by the engine and braking the slipping wheel. If the ASS detects slippage of the drive wheel, it gives a command to reduce the engine torque and applies the corresponding wheel brake. This prevents the wheel from slipping and reducing the traction force with the road surface.

This means that on slippery surfaces the fuel supply to the engine is automatically adjusted so that the wheels are supplied with an optimal torque, which eliminates intensive wheel slippage and a decrease in the traction force of the wheels with the supporting surface.

Note: To turn off the DSC system, press the "DSC OFF" switch.

Traction control and anti-skid system malfunction indicator/warning light

The indicator lights up for a few seconds after turning the ignition switch to the "ON" position (ignition on). The indicator flashes when the traction control system (TCS) or the skid control system (SCS) is activated.

If the indicator continues to light, this may indicate a malfunction of the PBS and PZS systems. In this case, the systems may not work correctly.

Note. Simultaneously with the flashing of the indicator, a low characteristic noise will be heard, accompanying the operation of the system and coming from the engine compartment. This indicates the normal operation of the traction control system. When the car is moving on a slippery road surface, for example, on freshly fallen snow, the engine will not be able to develop high speeds if the PBS system is on.
