Warning! It is dangerous to place luggage and other items on the luggage compartment shelf. In the event of a traffic accident or emergency braking of the car, this luggage may cause injuries to people in the car. The car is equipped with a light luggage compartment shelf, which is intended only to hide the contents of the luggage compartment from prying eyes. The luggage compartment shelf is not able to prevent sufficiently heavy luggage from shifting (if it is not properly secured in the luggage compartment) in the event of an accident, such as a vehicle overturning. Heavy luggage and other loads must be securely tied to the cargo loops in the luggage compartment. Before traveling, check that the luggage and other loads being transported are securely fastened.

When the tailgate is opened, two straps attached to both sides of the tailgate lift the rear shelf, providing easy access to the luggage compartment (Fig. 1.30). To provide access to the luggage compartment from inside the vehicle, lift the front section of the luggage compartment (Fig. 1.31).

Warning! Do not raise the luggage compartment shelf while the vehicle is moving. Do not load the luggage compartment above the shelf level (the shelf must be closed). Items carried in the luggage compartment must not interfere with the secure fixation of the shelf latches.

To increase the capacity of the luggage compartment, you can remove the rear shelf. To do this, disconnect the straps, then lift and remove the shelf from the car (Fig. 1.32).
