Installing a headrest on the center passenger seat in the rear seat (Mazda 3 BK)

If the center head restraint is not in the working position, carrying a passenger in the center position in the rear seat is dangerous. If the head restraint is missing or incorrectly adjusted, a sharp backward movement of the head during a rear impact will lead to severe neck injuries. The head restraint must always be in the working position when a passenger is in the center position in the rear seat. Make sure that the center head restraint is installed correctly.



To set the head restraint to the working position, pull it up until the lock engages. To lower the head restraint to the non-working position, press the lock button and then press the head restraint down (fig. 1.126).
