2. Raise the backrest sections to a vertical position.
3. Always check that the seat belt is not pinched under the rear seatback.
4. Pull the upper edge of the rear seatbacks from inside the vehicle to make sure the backrests are secure.
5. Fasten the diagonal lap belt installed in the center seat of the rear seat. Check that all seat belts installed in the rear seat are correctly positioned.

After returning the backrest to the upright position, check that the red indicator is not visible. If the rear seat back sections are not fully returned to the upright position and not locked, this is dangerous. During emergency braking or abrupt maneuvering of the vehicle, the rear seat backrest may suddenly drop forward and injure the occupant. If a red light is visible above the release button, the rear seatback is not locked in the upright position (pic. 1.123).
