Check the pressure monthly in all tires, including the spare wheel. To ensure the best combination of ride and handling, as well as long tire life, maintain the recommended tire pressures (see door label, fig. 1.185).
Check air pressure only when tires are cold.
Usually, in warm tires, the air pressure exceeds the recommended value. It is forbidden to bleed air from warm tires to bring the air pressure back to normal. Insufficient air pressure leads to deterioration in fuel efficiency, uneven and accelerated wear of tire treads, deterioration of tire fit on rim shelves, and spontaneous tire derailment from the wheel rim.
Excessive tire pressure will impair ride comfort, cause uneven and accelerated tire wear, and increase the risk of tire damage from road bumps. Maintain the recommended air pressure in the tires. If you need to inflate the tire frequently, check the tire and wheel for damage.
