Maintenance operations
Designations in the table:
P - Check: Check, clean, repair, adjust or replace as needed.
3 - Replace
O - Clear
C - Drain sediment water
T - pull up
* Odometer reading or months, whichever comes first.
Note. *1 In addition, check the condition and tension of the power steering pump and air conditioning compressor drive belts (if available on car).
Note. *2 Check the type of spark plugs from the markings on the plugs. See spark plug specifications.
Note. *3 If the vehicle is operated in a very dusty environment, the air filter should be cleaned periodically and, if necessary, replaced more frequently than indicated in the table. Consult an Authorized Mazda Dealer.
Note. *4 The timing belt must be replaced every 240,000 km or 10 years. Failure to comply with this requirement may result in engine failure.
Note. *5 If your vehicle is subject to any of the following conditions, change the engine oil and oil filter every 10,000 km or less. Consult an Authorized Mazda Dealer.
- - High dust content in the air.
- - Prolonged idling of the engine or prolonged movement of the vehicle at low speed.
- - Long-term operation at low ambient temperatures or regular trips only for short distances (when the engine does not have time to warm up to normal operating temperature).
Note. *6 If there is a marking on or near the radiator cap "FL22", use FL22 coolant. When changing the coolant in the engine cooling system, use FL22 brand fluid.
Note. *7 If the vehicle's brakes are heavily loaded (e.g. when driving dynamically, when operating the vehicle in mountainous terrain) or when the air humidity is very high, the brake fluid should be changed annually.
