Warning! Improper use of the front seat belt (seat belt with pretensioner) may result in accidental deployment of the pretensioner and serious injury.
Caution: The side airbag sensor is attached to the bottom of the center pillar.
Caution: When working in the B-pillar area, disconnect the negative battery cable or work carefully to avoid excessive impact to the bottom of the B-pillar.
Caution: Do not disassemble the seat belt tensioner.
Caution! The tensioner spring, which is unwound when the cover is removed, cannot be wound manually. In this case, the tensioner will not work properly.
Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.
Disconnect the negative battery cable and wait at least 1 minute.
Remove the lower center pillar trim.

Using a screwdriver, lift the seat belt pretensioner connector limiter plate (Fig. 8.62).
Disconnect the seat belt pretensioner connector.
Remove the cover.

Remove the bolts and screw, then remove the front seat belt (Fig. 8.63).
Install in the reverse order of removal.
Check that the air bag warning light comes on for approximately 6 seconds and then goes out.
If the airbag warning light does not operate as described above, there is a fault in the system. Check the system using the on-board diagnostics function.
