Note: Enabling this feature allows you to register a key without a special device (WDS or similar). Disabling this feature prevents drivers from being able to reprogram keys on cars owned by rental companies or other companies with large fleets.

Connect the special device (WDS or similar).

Using the current or new key, turn the ignition switch to the ON position.

Confirm access to the security system.

Select "Enable/disable key reprogramming function without using a special tool".

Switching on: Key registration can be done without any special tool (WDS or similar).

Lock: Key registration can only be done with a special device (WDS or similar).

Note: This feature is enabled when the vehicle is handed over to the customer.

Security Access Procedure

Note: To clear the ignition key code or disable the key programming function lock without a tool, you must confirm access to the security system.

Connect the special device (WDS or similar).

Select "Toolbox", "Body", "Security", then "PATS Features" (in the order given).

A special device calculates the shutdown code depending on the intended procedure.

Use the official Mazda website to obtain the ON code that corresponds to the OFF code. For details on how to perform this procedure, refer to Service Information No. A001/02.

Enter the activation code into the special device (WDS or similar).
