Make sure the battery is fully charged.
Make sure the alternator belt deflection and tension are within the specified values.
Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position and check that the battery charge indicator comes on. If this does not happen, check the circuit between the battery, the battery charge indicator and the terminals of the electronic control unit.
Start the engine and make sure the light goes out. If it doesn't, check for engine trouble codes (P0112, P0113, P2502, P2503, P2504).
