Power steering — general information (Mazda 3 BK)

Power steering only works when the engine is running. If the engine is off or the power steering system is faulty, you can still steer the car, but it will require more physical effort.

If the steering wheel effort increases while driving the vehicle under normal conditions, have the steering system checked by an authorized Mazda dealer.

Warning! When the engine is running, do not hold the steering wheel on the stop in the extreme position for more than 5 seconds. This may damage the power steering.
