To shift the transmission to an adjacent higher gear (relative to the current transmission), push the lever back (+).
If the vehicle is moving slowly, the transmission may not shift into higher gears. When in manual mode, the transmission will not upshift automatically. It is forbidden to exceed the permissible revolutions of the engine crankshaft: the tachometer needle must not enter the RED ZONE of the scale. If this happens, you may feel engine braking as the fuel supply to the engine is cut off. This is provided to protect the engine from damage, but does not indicate any malfunction of the vehicle.
