Disabling the range selector lever lock (automatic transmission) (Mazda 3 BK)

If the shift lever cannot be moved out of the "P" (Park) position in the normal manner while holding the brake pedal depressed, perform the following steps.

1. Using a screwdriver, remove the lock switch cap.



2. Insert a screwdriver into the recess and press the screwdriver down (fig. 1.154).

3. Move the range selector lever.
