Disabling the range selector lever lock (Mazda 6 GG)

If the range selector lever cannot be moved out of the "P" (Park) position in the normal manner, then, while holding the brake pedal depressed, do the following:

• use a screwdriver to remove the lock switch plug;
• insert a screwdriver into the recess and press the screwdriver down (fig. 1.158);
• move the range selector lever.
