Required parts: Automatic transmission fluid to Ford specification ESP-M2C166H.

Examination



Drive the car for about 15 km to warm up the engine and steering.

Check the power steering fluid level in the reservoir immediately after stopping the engine.

The fluid level should be between the "MIN" and "MAX" marks on the tank. It should not fall below the "MIN" mark.

If necessary, add liquid of the recommended grade.

Make sure that the liquid is not shaken before pouring, as this will lead to the formation of air bubbles. Pour the liquid slowly to prevent the formation of air bubbles.

Be sure to fill only with fresh fluid, as even the smallest contaminants can cause damage to the power steering.



After adding fluid, with the engine running, turn the steering wheel from the stop several times to remove air from the system.

Caution: If the fluid needs to be topped up frequently, have the steering checked at a workshop for leaks and repaired if necessary.
