The brake fluid reservoir is located in the engine compartment. It has two chambers, one for each brake circuit. The reservoir cap has a vent hole that should not be clogged.

The tank is transparent, so the brake fluid level can be constantly monitored from the outside. In some models, in addition, when the fluid level drops, a control lamp on the instrument panel lights up. However, the fluid level should be checked at least once every 4 weeks.

Precautions for handling brake fluid are given in Chapter. "Brake system".

When the lid is closed, the brake fluid level should be between the "MIN" and "MAX" marks on the reservoir and should not fall below the "MIN" mark.

When topping up, use only new brake fluid of Super DOT 4 or DOT 4 specifications and no other.

Due to wear of the brake pads, the brake fluid level will gradually drop, which is normal.

If the fluid level drops significantly in a short period of time, this is a sign of a fluid leak.

The leak should be located immediately. As a rule, this occurs due to wear of the cuffs in the brake cylinders of the wheels. For safety reasons, it is better to check the brakes in a workshop.
