Raise and support the car, remove the wheels.
Front Disc Brake Pads

Check the thickness of the brake pads (i.e. without a metal base) (4) from the front through the hole in the caliper. If in doubt, remove the pads and measure the thickness with a caliper. (5 - brake disc, 6 - outer brake shoe).
The wear limit occurs when the thickness of the lining reaches 1.5 mm.
Attention! It has been established that 1 mm of brake pad wear corresponds to a mileage of at least 1000 km, and even then in unfavorable conditions. Under normal conditions, the pads last much longer. With a disc brake pad lining thickness of 5.0 mm, they can last at least another 3-500 km.
Rear drum brake pads

On the rear brake mounting plates, remove the rubber plug from the inspection hole (arrow) from the rear side and shine a flashlight into the hole. The figure shows the mounting plate with the pads removed.

In doubtful cases, remove the brake drum and measure the thickness of the lining (working layer)The wear limit is reached when the thickness of the lining at its thinnest point reaches 1.0 mm.
If the wear limit is reached, replace the pads. Be sure to replace all 4 pads on one axle.
Install the wheels in accordance with the marks made earlier. Do not lubricate the threads of the wheel nuts. Tighten the wheel nuts. Lower the car and tighten the nuts to a torque of 90 Nm crosswise.
