Brake fluid level sensor — checking operation (Mazda Capella GC)

1. To check the operation of the fluid level sensor, remove the master cylinder reservoir cap. Turn on the ignition. Have an assistant watch the fluid level indicator light on the instrument panel.

2. Press the float into the master cylinder reservoir using a clean screwdriver. The control lamp should light when the float drops below the "MIN" mark and go out when the float rises above it.

3. The sensor can also be tested using a tester. Connect the tester to the sensor connector. The circuit should close when the float drops below the "MIN" mark and open when the float rises above it.

4. Connect the connector to the sensor and install the tank cover.
