Double pressure regulator
1. Brake tube; 2. Bolt; 3. Pressure regulator
1. A double pressure regulator is mounted on a thermal shield. An accurate check requires special test equipment, but it can be assumed that the regulator is faulty if the rear wheels lock up before the front wheels under hard braking, or if the rear brakes do not work at all.
2. To remove the regulator, first clean it, then unscrew the hydraulic connections from it. Have a rag ready to collect leaked hydraulic fluid. Be careful not to get liquid on painted parts.
3. Detach the valve from the thermal shield and remove it.
4. Install the regulator in reverse order. Finally, bleed the entire brake system (Chapter 15).
