1.6 and 1.8 L petrol engines Mazda 626 (5)
The engine block is cast iron, the removable cylinder head is cast aluminum alloy. The camshaft is mounted on the cylinder head, the force is transferred to the valves through rocker arms located on a common shaft.
This section describes repair procedures without removing the engine from the vehicle. Therefore, when engine overhaul procedures are considered, in the event that the engine is removed from the car, or it is being tested on the bench, many of the described operations will not be applicable.
