Removal
1. Remove the front cover, which is the oil pump housing.
2. Remove the crankshaft oil seal from the cover.
3. Remove the oil pump cover.
4. Remove the pressure reducing valve.
Examination
1. Install the timing rings into the pump housing and measure the clearance between the drive timing ring and the pump housing.
2. Measure the gap between the driving and driven toothed rings.
3. Measure the clearance between the plane of the toothed rings and the plane of the pump casing.
4. Measure the length of the pressure reducing valve spring and replace the spring if necessary.
5. Lubricate the new seal with oil and install it in place.
6. Lubricate the relief valve piston with engine oil and install the valve into the pump housing.
7. Lubricate the toothed rings and install them into the housing.
8. Install the pump cover and tighten the bolts.
Installation
1. Install the front cover and tighten the bolts.
2. Install the remaining parts.
