Oil pump — general information (Mazda 6 GG)

The oil pump is installed in the front engine cover. The crankshaft drives the inner rotor with a chain and an oil pump sprocket. An efficient and compact oil pump with 5 teeth on the outer gear and 6 teeth on the inner gear is used. The gears have trochoidal engagement. The pump consists of inner and outer rotors, a pressure reducing valve and a housing.

Attention! The oil pump is non-disassemblable. If the oil pump is faulty, replace it as an assembly.
