The oil spray nozzle valves are installed in the cylinder block (in the root neck). The efficiency of piston cooling by spray oil is improved by optimizing the placement of the valves that face the bottom of each piston. The oil spray nozzle valves are designed to maintain optimum oil pressure in the engine during spraying (Fig. 2.45).
