Removing
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Raise and secure the front of the vehicle.
3. Remove the engine guards.
4. Drain the engine oil and remove the oil filter.
5. Unscrew bolts of connection of an exhaust pipe.
6. Disconnect the exhaust pipe from the exhaust manifold.
7. The oil pan can consist of one or two parts.
8. If the sump is in two parts, unscrew the bolts at the rear of the gearbox and crankcase and remove the rear of the sump. Unscrew the remaining bolts and remove the pallet.
9. Disconnect the oil pickup tube from the main bearing cap assembly and remove it.
10. Unscrew the bolts of the cover block.
11. Remove the cover block.
Installation
1. Clean the mating surfaces of the cover block, oil pan and cylinder block.
2. Inspect the sump, oil pickup tube, and bolt hole threads.
3. On all models, apply silicone sealant to the hatched surfaces of the cylinder block.
4. On all models, apply silicone sealant to the mating surface of the cover assembly. Insert block bolts and tighten them.
5. On models, apply silicone sealant to the mating surface of the oil pan. Insert the pan bolts and tighten them.
6. On all models, apply silicone sealant to the new oil pump and rear cover gaskets. Install gaskets. Apply silicone sealant to the mating surface of the oil pan, install the oil pan and tighten the mounting bolts.
7. Install the remaining parts.
8. Wait 12 hours for the silicone sealant to harden and check engine operation.
