Rear parking brake cable components

Rear cables
1. Jack up and securely support the rear of the vehicle on axle stands.
2. Remove the cable clamp.
3. Remove the driven brake shoe assembly (Chapter 6) and disconnect the cable from the brake shoe control lever.
4. Unscrew the mounting bolts and adjusting nut and remove the cable assembly.

5. Installation is carried out in reverse order. Apply white lithium grease to the cable O-ring before installation. After installation, adjust the position of the alignment (it should be perpendicular to the front brake cable), by turning the adjusting nut.
6. Adjust the parking brake lever travel if necessary.
Front cable
7. Remove the parking brake lever trim. Unscrew and remove the adjusting nut.
8. Jack up and securely support the rear of the vehicle on axle stands.
9. Remove the front cable from under the vehicle, disconnecting the rear cables from the leveler.
10. Installation is carried out in reverse order. Finally, adjust the travel of the parking brake lever.
