Rear parking brake cable components
1. Bracket; 2. Connecting the cable to the block control lever; 3. Bolts; 4. Adjusting nut; 5. Cable assembly
Rear cables
1. Jack up and securely support the rear of the vehicle on axle stands.
2. Remove cable bracket.
3. Remove the driven brake shoe assembly (Chapter 6) and disconnect the cable from the block control lever.
4. Turn off bolts of fastening and an adjusting nut and remove assembly of a cable.
5. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Apply white lithium grease to the cable o-ring before installation. Correct alignment after installation (it should be perpendicular to the front brake cable), by turning the adjusting nut.
6. Adjust the travel of the parking brake lever if necessary.
Front cable
7. Remove facing of the lever of a parking brake. Loosen and remove the adjusting nut.
8. Jack up and securely support the rear of the vehicle on axle stands.
9. Remove the front cable from under the vehicle by disconnecting the rear cables from the equalizer.
10. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Finally, adjust the parking brake lever travel.
