Idling (l3 engine)
* Eliminates temporary reduction in idle speed immediately after switching on electrical consumers.
** Blower motor running at high speed. Headlight switch on. Rear window defogger switch on. Cooling fans running.
Start the engine.
Maintain engine speed at approximately 3000 rpm until the cooling fans begin to operate.
Release the accelerator pedal.
Wait until the cooling system fans turn off.
Check that the idle speed and ignition timing are within the normal range.
Insert the exhaust gas analyzer probe into the exhaust pipe.
Check the CO and HC concentrations in the exhaust gases to ensure they comply with the norm.
