Checking / adjusting the idle speed (Mazda Familia BG)

Since diesel engines do not have an ignition system, a special tachometer is needed, which works on the basis of photocells. It is quite expensive, but it is not necessary to buy it.

1. Warm up the engine to operating temperature, engine oil temperature at least +80°C.

2. Electricity consumers (radio receiver, lighting) must be turned off.

3. Leave the engine idling with the handbrake applied.

4. Check the idle speed, required value: 800-830 rpm.



5. If the idle speed is not adjusted correctly, loosen the lock nut and adjust by turning the adjusting screw. After adjustment, tighten the screw again.

Caution! If the RPM does not meet the requirements, contact a MAZDA workshop or BOSCH service.
