The vacuum pump generates the low pressure needed to operate the brake booster.

The vacuum pump is located on the back of the generator. It is driven by the generator shaft through the driven disk.

Removal



1. Remove the vacuum line, having first loosened the clamp.

2. Unscrew the supply oil line. Disconnect the return oil line, having first loosened the clamp.

3. Unscrew the vacuum pump mounting bolts and remove the pump with the O-ring seal.

Installation



1. Check the O-ring seal of the vacuum pump for damage and replace if necessary.

2. Install the vacuum pump with the seal and tighten the mounting bolts with force 7 Nm.

3. Pour some engine oil into the vacuum pump hole.

4. Put on the return oil line and secure with a clamp.

5. Install and tighten the oil supply line.

6. Install the vacuum line and secure with a clamp.
