The vacuum pump creates the vacuum required for the brake booster to operate. It is mounted on the rear of the generator and is driven from the generator shaft via a clutch.
Removal
Loosen the clamp and disconnect the vacuum hose from the pump.
Loosen the clamp and disconnect the oil supply hose from the pump.

Loosen the vacuum pump mounting bolts and remove it with the O-ring (figure 4.27).
Installation
Check the vacuum pump O-ring for damage, if so, replace it. Install the vacuum pump with the O-ring and secure with the bolts, tightening them to a torque of 7 Nm.
Pour some oil into the vacuum pump lubrication hole.
Connect the vacuum hose and secure it with a clamp.
Connect the oil supply hose and secure it with a clamp.
