The condenser (Fig. 8.83) with additional cooling separates the gas and liquid phases of the refrigerant, initially cooled in the condenser, in a receiver/separator where the refrigerant is returned to the additional cooling element and cooled again to accelerate liquefaction and improve cooling capacity.
