The crankshaft sprocket is made of high-strength chromium steel. The working surface of the teeth is hardened to increase wear resistance at all points of contact with the chain. The crankshaft sprocket consists of a chain drive sprocket, a timing mechanism, and an oil pump drive sprocket, which are combined into a single element. The keyway used to install the sprocket is missing (Fig. 2.24).
