Fig. 1.148. Location of the front passenger airbag activation switch
The vehicle is equipped with a front passenger airbag switch. The location of this switch is shown in Figure 1.148.
The switch allows you to deactivate the front and side airbags of the front passenger, as well as the pyrotechnic tensioner of the corresponding seat belt. This option is provided in case a child restraint system is installed in the front passenger seat.

The front passenger air bag switch deactivates the front passenger front and side air bags and the corresponding seat belt pretensioner. Make sure that the front passenger air bag switch is in the "ON" position, unless a child restraint system is installed in the front passenger seat. When the ignition switch is turned to the "ON" position (ignition on) the front passenger airbag deactivation indicator lights up for approximately 6 seconds (fig. 1.149).
Note: In any of the following cases, you must contact an authorized dealer to have the front passenger airbag switch checked.
- - The airbag deactivation indicator does not come on when the ignition switch is turned to the "ON" position (ignition on).
- - The air bag off indicator does not illuminate when the ignition is on and the front passenger air bag switch is in the "OFF" position.
- - The air bag off indicator remains illuminated when the ignition is on and the front passenger air bag switch is in the "ON" position.
