Caution: If the driver air bag module is connected to the corresponding wiring, it may become entangled with the horn switch wiring, which may cause damage to the wires. When connecting the connectors, be careful not to entangle the various wires with each other.
Note:
- If the passenger airbag module is replaced after it has deployed, it must be replaced together with the central wire harness.
- When removing the passenger airbag module, perform work from the position shown in the figure.

1. Turn off the ignition.
2. Disconnect the negative battery terminal and wait at least one minute.
3. Remove the following parts:
- Front door sill trim on the passenger side.
- Front side trim on the passenger side.
- Glove compartment.
- Decorative panel.
- Lower instrument panel cover.
- Lower panel on the passenger side.
- Front heater duct on passenger side.
- Ventilation unit.
4. Disconnect the connector.

5. Remove clamps A.
6. Remove the B clamps by pushing the strips outwards using snap ring pliers.

7. Unscrew the nuts.

8. Remove the bracket.
9. Unscrew screws A and B.

10. Pull the passenger airbag module in the direction of arrow (2) and remove hooks A from the instrument panel by pressing the instrument panel in the direction of arrow (1).

11. Move the passenger airbag module in the direction of the arrow (3) and detach hooks B from the instrument panel.
12. Remove the passenger airbag module bracket away from the instrument panel air duct (5) by sliding the passenger airbag module in the direction of the arrow (4).

13. Remove the passenger airbag module.

14. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following:
Insert a Phillips screwdriver into the screw and wrap it with electrical tape.

Note: The passenger airbag module mounting screws are installed from the back of the instrument panel. Wrap the Phillips screwdriver and screw with electrical tape to prevent the screw from falling out before tightening.
Tighten the screw halfway.
Remove the electrical tape.
Caution: If the tape is left in the vehicle after the screw is fully tightened, it may cause abnormal noise. Remove the tape from the screwdriver before fully tightening the screw.
Tighten the screw completely.
15. Turn on the ignition (engine off or on).
16. Check that the air bag indicator flashes for 6 seconds and goes out. If the air bag indicator does not come on, perform an on-board self-diagnosis check of the system using the M-MDS.
