Attention. If the driver's airbag module is connected to the appropriate wiring harness, it may become entangled with the horn switch wiring, resulting in damage to the wiring. When connecting the connectors, make sure that the different wires do not tangle with each other.
Note:
- If the passenger airbag module is replaced after it has deployed, it must be replaced along with the center wiring harness.
- When removing the passenger airbag module, work from the position shown in the figure.
1. Turn off the ignition.
2. Disconnect the negative battery terminal and wait at least one minute.

9. Loosen screws A and B.
10. Pull the passenger airbag module in the direction of the arrow (2) and remove hooks A from the dashboard by pressing the dashboard in the direction of the arrow (1).
11. Move the passenger airbag module in the direction of the arrow (3) and disconnect hooks B from the dashboard.
12. Remove the passenger airbag module bracket away from the dashboard air duct (5), by sliding the passenger airbag module in the direction of the arrow (4).
13. Remove the passenger airbag module.
14. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following:
Insert a Phillips screwdriver into the screw and wrap with electrical tape.
Note: The passenger airbag module mounting screws are installed from the back of the dashboard. Wrap the Phillips screwdriver with the screw with electrical tape so that the screw does not fall out before tightening.
Tighten the screw half way.
Remove tape.
Attention. If the tape remains in the vehicle after the screw is fully tightened, it may cause abnormal noise. Remove the tape from the screwdriver before fully tightening the screw.
Fully tighten the screw.
15. Turn on the ignition (engine off or on).
16. Verify that the airbag system indicator flashes for 6 seconds and goes out. If the airbag system indicator does not illuminate, perform a system check using the on-board self-diagnosis using the M-MDS.
