Attention. When performing work on the components of the airbag system, observe all necessary precautions and safety precautions (see section at the beginning of the chapter).
1. Turn off the ignition.
2. Disconnect the negative battery terminal and wait at least one minute.
3. Partially fold back the door seal.
4. Remove the following parts:
- Versions with sunroof: sunroof seal.
- A-pillar trim.
- Navigation lamp.
- Sunshield.
- Front sill trim.
- Rear sill trim.
- Lower facing of a rack In a body.
- Front passenger seat belt adjuster cover.
- Top seat belt anchor for front seat.
- The upper trim of the B-pillar of the body.
- Handrail.
- Trunk floor.
- Trunk lining.
- Side lining of the trunk.
- Facing of a rack of D of a body.
- Facing of a rack From a body.
5. Remove the ceiling lining.
6. Using a flathead screwdriver, carefully pry off the locking device, but do not remove.
7. Disconnect the connector.
8. Remove the retainer:
Use a flathead screwdriver to remove the pin as shown in the figure.
Insert a flathead screwdriver as shown in the illustration.
Pulling the curtain air curtain in the direction of the arrow in the figure (1), disconnect the strips by prying with a flat screwdriver in the direction of the arrows (2) And (3).
Remove the retainer from the body.
9. Remove bolts A and B.
10. Unhook hooks A and B from the body.
11. Remove the curtain airbag module.
12. Installation is made in an order, the return to removal.
13. Turn on the ignition (engine off or on).
14. Verify that the airbag system indicator flashes for 6 seconds and goes out. If the airbag system indicator does not illuminate, perform a system check using the on-board self-diagnosis using the M-MDS.
