When voltage is applied to input "A" or "B", voltage appears at output "C". If low voltage (0 V) is applied to inputs "A" and "B", then the voltage at output "C" is also 0 V. When high voltage (12 V) is applied to input "A" or "B", the same voltage is present at output "C". See the relay diagram on the right

When voltage is applied to input "A", output "B" is shorted to ground. When low voltage (9 V) is applied to input "A", output "B" is at high voltage (12 V). See the relay diagram on the right
