Replacing the electric fuses in the indoor unit (located in the cabin next to the left end of the instrument panel)
If the electrical equipment fails, first of all check the serviceability of the electrical fuses in the indoor unit, which is located near the left end of the instrument panel.
1. Switch the ignition switch to position «OFF» («Turned off») and turn off all onboard electrical consumers.
2. Open the fuse box cover.
3. Remove the fuse from the socket using special pliers, which are located in the fuse box in the engine compartment.
4. Check the condition of the fuse. If the fuse is blown, replace it with a new one.
5. Insert a new fuse of exactly the same rated current into the socket. Make sure the fuse is securely in place on the panel. If the fuse does not lock into place, take it to an Authorized Mazda Dealer. If a spare fuse of the required rating is not available, then as a temporary measure, a fuse rated for the same value of rated current can be used to protect an electrical device that does not significantly affect the operation of the car (e.g. a fuse from a socket «audio» («audio system») or «outlet» («electric outlet»).
Attention. When replacing blown fuses, always use genuine Mazda fuses of the same rating. Otherwise, you may damage the vehicle's electrical system.
6. Replace the cover and make sure it is secure.
Replacing electrical fuses in the engine compartment (in the engine compartment)
If the headlights or other electrical equipment do not work, and the fuses located in the indoor unit (inside the car), serviceable, check the fuses in the engine compartment. If the fuse is blown, it must be replaced with a new one. Perform the following operations.
1. Turn the ignition switch to «off» («Turned off») and turn off all onboard electrical consumers.
2. Remove the fuse block cover.
3. If any fuse blows (except for the main fuse «main») it is necessary to replace it with a new one, designed for exactly the same amount of rated current.
Attention.
- Do not replace the main fuse yourself.
- Have your Mazda dealer replace the main fuse. Replacing the main fuse yourself is dangerous because it protects an electrical circuit with a high current load. Incorrect replacement of the main fuse may result in electric shock or short circuit and vehicle fire.
4. Replace the cover and make sure it is secure.
