In order to ensure the normal operation of the load sensor built into the front passenger seat cushion, the passenger should not place or sit on the booster cushion. Otherwise, the load sensor will not work properly due to the influence of the booster cushion. If there is luggage or pets on the front passenger seat, the seat belt reminder may operate and give a false signal. When luggage or pets are placed on the front passenger seat, the operation of the reminder will depend on their weight.

Back seat

If the rear seat belts are not fastened and the ignition switch is in the "ON" position (ignition on), the driver and passengers will be warned of this by means of a light and sound signal. The light signal lights up above the rear-view mirror (Fig. 1.61).

The indicator can be red or green. If the seat belt is not fastened, the red indicator is on. If the seat belt is fastened, the indicator is green. The light indicators work even if there are no passengers in the back seat. The audible indicator is activated only if the previously fastened seat belt is unfastened.

Note: If the rear seat belts are not fastened within the set time after the engine is started, all warning lights will turn off.

Door open alarm.

The indicator lights up if one of the doors (including rear tailgate) open or not closed tightly.

Minimum fluid level indicator in the washer reservoir.

The indicator warns the driver that there is a minimum amount of fluid left in the windshield and headlight washer reservoir. If the indicator lights up, add washer fluid.

Automatic transmission malfunction indicator.

The malfunction indicator comes on for a few seconds after turning the ignition switch to the "ON" position (ignition on).

The indicator turns on when a malfunction of the automatic transmission is detected.

In this case, continuing to drive the car may result in damage to the automatic transmission.

Malfunction indicator (red)/Keyless entry and start indicator (green) – vehicles with wearable card "Advanced Key".

This indicator/alarm may glow red or green.

(The original article is available on: www.mazbook.ru)

Malfunction indicator "KEY" (red).

The indicator may light in the following cases.

When turning the ignition switch to the "ON" position (ignition on) the indicator lights up briefly and goes out.

If the vehicle's keyless entry and engine start system is faulty, the indicator will not go out but will remain on.

Warning! Do not operate the vehicle if the "KEY" malfunction indicator is on.

Warning! In this case, stop the car in a safe place, taking the necessary precautions. In order to continue driving the car, use the auxiliary key.

The following are the conditions under which the red "KEY" indicator will flash, warning the driver that the ignition switch cannot be turned from the "LOCK" position (blocking) to the "ACC" position (auxiliary consumers of electricity), even if the switch handle is pressed and depressed.

The battery of the portable card is discharged "Advanced Key".

Wearable map "Advanced Key" is outside the system's coverage area.

Wearable map "Advanced Key" is in an area where the system cannot detect a signal.

There is a key of a different brand within the system's coverage area, which is similar to a wearable card "Advanced Key".

The following conditions (ignition switch not returned to "LOCK" position) will cause the red "KEY" indicator to flash continuously, warning the driver that the wearable card has been removed from the vehicle. The indicator will stop flashing when the wearable card is returned to the vehicle.

The ignition switch is not returned to the "LOCK" position (blocking), the driver's door is open and the wearable card is removed from the vehicle.

The ignition switch is not returned to the "LOCK" position (blocking), and all vehicle doors are closed after the wearable card is removed from the vehicle.

Note: An audible warning signal will sound simultaneously with the flashing red "KEY" indicator.

"KEY" indicator (green).

The indicator lights up in the following cases.

The green "KEY" indicator lights up on the instrument panel when the driver presses and pushes the ignition switch handle, which is in the "LOCK" position (blocking). When the indicator turns on, it confirms that the vehicle has a registered wearable card "Advanced Key" and the ability to turn the ignition switch handle further to the "ACC" position (auxiliary consumers of electricity).

The indicator flashes in the following cases.

If the battery of the wearable card "Advanced Key" discharged, the "KEY" indicator will flash for 30 seconds after the ignition switch is turned from the "ON" position (ignition on) to the "ACC" position (auxiliary consumers of electricity) or "LOCK" (blocking). Replace the battery before the wearable card becomes inoperative.

Anti-theft alarm system (electronic immobilizer).

This indicator starts to flash at intervals of 2 seconds after the ignition switch is turned from the "ON" position (ignition on) to the "ACC" position (auxiliary consumers of electricity) and the anti-theft system will turn on (immobilizer).

The indicator stops flashing when the ignition switch is turned to the "ON" position (ignition on) using a registered ignition key. In this case, the anti-theft system (immobilizer) turns off, and the indicator turns on and lights up for about 3 seconds, then goes out.

If the engine does not start with a registered ignition key and the immobilizer indicator remains on or flashes, this may indicate a malfunction of the anti-theft system.

High beam headlight indicator.

The indicator lights up in the following two cases:

  • high beam headlights are on;
  • the direction indicator control lever is pressed towards you to turn on the high beam headlights.

Fog light indicator.

The indicator lights up when the front fog lights are turned on.

Rear fog light indicator.

The indicator lights up when the rear fog light is turned on.

On range indicator (automatic transmission).

The indicator shows the position of the automatic transmission range selector (the indicator works when the ignition is on).

Gear engaged indicator.

If the range selector lever is in the "D" (drive) or "M" position (manual switching mode), the indicator shows the gear engaged in the automatic transmission.

Glow plug indicator (diesel cars).

The indicator may light when the ignition switch is turned to the "ON" position (ignition on). The indicator goes out after the glow plugs have fully warmed up.

Traction control and anti-skid system malfunction indicator/warning light.

The indicator lights up for a few seconds after turning the ignition switch to the "ON" position (ignition on). The indicator flashes when the traction control system (TCS) or the anti-skid system (ASS) is activated. If the indicator continues to light, this may indicate a malfunction of the TCS and ASS systems. In this case, the systems may not work correctly.

Anti-skid system off indicator.

The indicator lights up for a few seconds after turning the ignition switch to the "ON" position (ignition on). The indicator also comes on when the "DSC OFF" switch is pressed and warns the driver that the traction control system (TCS) and the anti-skid system (ASS) are disabled.

If the indicator continues to light when the PBS and PZS systems are not switched off, this may be due to a malfunction of the anti-skid system.

Cruise control indicator (yellow)/Cruise control setting indicator (green).

This indicator can be yellow or green.

Cruise control system on indicator (yellow).

The indicator lights up yellow when you press the main "ON/OFF" switch of the cruise control system. When the indicator lights up, it means that the cruise control system is on.

The indicator lights up when the exterior lights and instrument panel lighting are on.

Power steering malfunction indicator.

The indicator lights up when the ignition switch is turned to the "ON" position (ignition on) and goes out after the engine starts.

The indicator lights up when the power steering fails. If the indicator lights up, turn off the engine and start it again.

If the indicator no longer lights up after restarting the engine, this indicates that the power steering is working properly. If the indicator continues to light up, the power steering is faulty.

Note: When the malfunction indicator is on, the power steering is not working. However, the vehicle can still be controlled. However, the driver must exert more physical effort to turn the steering wheel.

Automatic headlight leveling malfunction indicator.

The indicator lights up for a few seconds after turning the ignition switch to the "ON" position (ignition on).

Subsequently, the indicator lights up if the automatic headlight corrector fails.

Direction indicator/hazard warning lights.

When the direction indicators are turned on, the corresponding indicator flashes (left or right) indicator.

When the hazard warning lights are switched on, both indicators flash simultaneously.

Note: If the indicator is constantly on (not flashing) or flashes at an increased frequency, then the possible cause is that one of the turn signal lamps has burned out.
