To unlock the hood, pull the handle located to the left of the steering column (Fig. 1.37). The car must be stationary.

Move the latch tab to the side to release the lock and open the hood (Fig. 1.38).

Take the stop post by the pad (Fig. 1.39).

Insert the upper end of the thrust strut into the socket on the hood (Fig. 1.40).

Before closing the hood, inspect the engine compartment and check that all filler necks are covered with caps and all foreign objects are removed (for example, tools, containers with oil, etc.) removed from the engine compartment.

While holding the hood in the raised position, lower the support bar and secure it in the holder. Before closing the hood, check that the support bar is secured in the holder.

Close the hood so that the latch is securely locked.
