Attention.
- Always make sure the hood is closed and securely latched.
- An open or poorly locked hood is dangerous. When the car is moving, the hood can rise due to the air flow and block the driver's view, which can lead to a serious traffic accident.
Opening the hood
1. Unlock the hood only when the vehicle is stationary. To unlock the hood, pull the handle located to the left of the steering column.
2. Place your hand into the gap formed under the front edge of the hood and move the hood latch tab to the right, then lift the hood.
3. Grasp the pad on the stop strut with your hand and release the strut from the holder. Insert the upper end of the stop strut into the socket indicated by the arrow in order to fix the hood in the raised position.
Closing the hood
1. Inspect the engine compartment and check that all filler necks are closed with caps and that there are no foreign objects (for example, tools, containers with oil, etc.) removed from the engine compartment.
2. Raise the hood, grab the pad on the stop strut with your hand and fix it in the holder. Before closing the hood, check that the stop strut is securely fixed in the holder.
3. Slowly lower the hood until it stops, then remove your hands from underneath it. From the top center, press down on the front edge of the hood until the latch clicks to close the hood completely.
