To unlock the hood, pull the handle located to the left of the steering column (Fig. 1.34). The car must be stationary.

Move the latch tab to the right and lift the hood (Fig. 1.35).

Grasp the pad on the stop strut with your hand and release the strut from the holder. Insert the upper end of the stop strut into the socket indicated by the arrow in order to fix the hood in the raised position (Fig. 1.36).
Before closing the hood, inspect the engine compartment and check that all filler necks are covered with caps and all foreign objects are removed (for example, tools, containers with oil, etc.) were removed from the engine compartment.
While holding the hood in the raised position, lower the support bar and secure it in the holder. Before closing the hood, check that the support bar is secured in the holder.
Close the hood so that the latch is securely locked.
