Measure the stem diameter of each valve with a micrometer in the X and Y directions at three points (A, B, and C) as shown in Figure 2.140.
If the diameter is not within the standard, replace the valve.
Standard diameter:
- Intake: 5.470–5.485 mm;
- Issue: 5.465–5.480 mm.
Maximum diameter:
- Intake: 5,440 mm;
- Issue: 5.435 mm.
