The vehicles described in this manual are equipped with a hydraulic brake system. The front brakes are disc brakes, the rear brakes are disc or drum brakes. All brakes are equipped with automatic adjustment of brake pad clearances. The wear of the front disc brake pads is compensated automatically, and the rear disc brake has a pad clearance adjustment mechanism.

The hydraulic system consists of two separate circuits. The master brake cylinder includes separate reservoirs for the two circuits; in the event of a fluid leak or damage in one of the hydraulic drives, the other remains operational. A dual pressure regulator distributes hydraulic pressure between the front and rear brakes to prevent the rear wheels from locking. A warning of insufficient brake fluid level is given by a control lamp activated by a sensor in the master brake cylinder reservoir.
