Seat belt with pretensioner (Mazda 6 GG)
For more effective protection in the event of an accident, the seat belts installed on the driver and front passenger seats are equipped with pyrotechnic pretensioners and load limiters. In the event of a sufficiently strong frontal (or close to the frontal) in a vehicle collision, the front airbags and seat belt pretensioners are deployed simultaneously. Pretensioners provide rapid tightening of the belts and prevent them from slackening during the deployment of the airbags. Seat belt pretensioners will not be able to effectively protect people in a traffic accident if they are not fastened correctly. The seat belt load limiter, acting in a controlled manner, releases the belt webbing in order to reduce the load on the passenger's chest to a safe level.
