The light sensor also functions as a rain sensor in the automatic windscreen wiper control system (Fig. 1.59). If the windscreen wiper switch handle is set to the "AUTO" position (automatic mode) and the ignition is on (ignition switch is in the "ON" position), the windshield wiper is controlled automatically. Be careful not to pinch your hand or fingers, as this may cause injury or damage to the windshield wiper.

If the central light switch handle is in the "AUTO" position, then when you turn the ignition switch to the "ACC" position (auxiliary consumers of electricity) or "LOCK" (blocking) the headlights, other external lights and instrument panel lights will be turned off. It is possible to increase the delay before the headlights, other external lights and instrument panel lights turn on as the ambient light level decreases by adjusting the sensitivity of the sensor.

Warning! Do not cover the light sensor with anything (do not stick film or labels on the windshield in the sensor area). Otherwise, the sensor will not work properly.
