When stopping a vehicle on or near the roadway, as well as in all cases stipulated by the Traffic Regulations, turn on the hazard warning lights (Fig. 1.57).

Having your hazard warning lights on alerts other road users that your vehicle is a potential hazard and they should take extra precautions when passing your vehicle.
