Figure 1.17. Directions of rotation and fixed positions of the handle at the end of the lighting switch lever: a – off; b – first fixed position; c – second fixed position

To turn on the headlights, turn the knob on the end of the light switch lever (figure 1.17).

When the knob is turned to the first fixed position, the parking lights, rear lights, license plate lights and instrument panel lights come on.

When the knob is turned to the second fixed position, the headlights, parking lights, taillights, license plate lights and instrument panel lights come on.

When the lever is pressed forward, the high beam headlights are turned on; if you push it back, the low beam headlights turn on.

Hazard warning lights

To turn on the hazard warning lights, pull the lever towards the steering wheel. When you release the lever, it will return to its original position. The hazard warning lights can also be switched on when the headlights are off.

When the hazard warning lights are switched on, the blue high beam indicator lamp will light up.

In dangerous traffic situations, both during the day and at night, turn on the hazard warning lights to warn other road users. In the future, always turn it on when performing emergency repairs or when stopping the car at the side of the road. To turn on the system, press the switch, which operates independently of the ignition. The direction indicator lamps flash simultaneously.

Lighting system warning signal

If you forget to turn off the lighting system when turning off the engine, an audible signal will sound for a certain period of time.

Direction indicators

Figure 1.18. Direction of movement of the light switch lever when turning on the turn signals (a)…

Figure 1.18. Direction of movement of the light switch lever when turning on the turn signals (a) and giving the turn signal before changing lanes (b)

To turn on the right turn signal, move the switch up; to turn on the left turn signal, move the switch down (figure 1.18).

When the turn signal is on, the indicator lamp flashes.

After turning the corner, the turn signal turns off automatically.

To signal a turn before changing lanes, press the switch up or down until the back pressure increases and hold it in this position – the indicator lamp should flash simultaneously with the turn signal.
