A halogen lamp is dangerous if broken. The halogen lamp bulb contains gas under excess pressure. If the lamp breaks, people may be seriously injured by flying fragments of the bulb. If you touch the halogen lamp bulb with bare fingers, the remaining greasy marks from your fingers may cause the lamp to overheat and explode when switched on. Do not touch the glass bulb of a halogen lamp with bare fingers. Always wear safety glasses when handling halogen lamps.
