Remove the radiator drain plug. (see fig. 2.211).
Drain the coolant into a container.
Flush the cooling system with water.
Wait until the liquid is completely drained from the system.
Tighten the radiator drain plug.
Fill the reservoir with coolant up to the FULL mark.
Install the radiator cap completely.
Start the engine and let it idle until the cooling fan comes on.
After the engine has warmed up, do the following:
1. Run the engine at 2500 rpm⁻¹ for 5 min.
2. Let the engine run at 3000 min⁻¹ for 5 s, then let it idle.
3. Repeat the first two steps several times.
4. Let the engine idle for 1 min.
Stop the engine and let it cool.
Remove the radiator cap.
Check the coolant level. If the level is low, add coolant.
Install the radiator cap.
Check for coolant leaks.
If fluid is leaking, repair or replace the radiator cap or radiator.
